EXHIBITS & PROGRAMS ART & CULTURAL EVENTS

The National Steinbeck Center sponsors numerous arts and cultural events, exhibitions and programs each year. Past exhibitions have ranged from the Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition This Land is Your Land: The Life and Legacy of Woody Guthrie, and fine arts and exhibits such as This Side of Eden: Images of Steinbeck’s California, and the photography of Dorothea Lange: Human Documents to the annual Day of the Dead Community Altars exhibition. See past exhibits for a full listing.

Programs include lectures, films, and panel discussions about Steinbeck, history and agriculture; educational bus and walking tours to Steinbeck literary sites; community based events such as Day of the Dead and the popular KidsArt Festival where children perform and interact with local artists to explore their own creativity; and the annual Steinbeck Festival.

National Steinbeck Center members receive advance notice of special events and complimentary or discounted admission to programs. For a calendar of upcoming events, click here.
