BOOK GROUP SPECIAL
Minimum group number waved, one complimentary admission for organizer, use of Art of Writing room (non private) for discussion at no charge, based on availability. Coupons for 10% off one-time store purchase on day of visit. Use of board room for discussion (private) is available for $50 fee, based on availability. Reservations are required.

DESCRIPTION
The National Steinbeck Center is an $11 million museum dedicated to John Steinbeck’s life and works. There is a 48-seat orientation theater with biographical video, a permanent gallery with 8,000 square feet of interactive exhibits and seven themed theaters with film clips of Cannery Row, East of Eden, The Grapes of Wrath and more. There is also an Art of Writing room where visitors can explore their own creativity. Visitors can purchase books, tapes, videos and unique gifts at the museum store. The museum’s “One Main Street Café” offers a charming farmer’s market atmosphere and serves gourmet breakfast and lunch fare seven days a week, as well as Starbucks coffee, cappuccino and a full selection of local wines.

TOURS
The museum is a self-guided experience. Groups are greeted by a museum docent and each person is given visitor guides with maps and guided to our 12-minute biographical video in the orientation theater.

RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT
Group reservations should be made at least three (3) weeks prior to arrival. In order to receive group benefits and rates, one single payment from the group organizer is required at time of arrival by check or credit card.

PARKING
There is complimentary car parking adjacent to the museum. Turn right directly in front of the museum (drive between the posts) and follow the Steinbeck Center Parking signs.

HOURS
Open Year Round 10am-5pm Monday – Sunday
*The museum closes at 3 p.m. the day before Thanksgiving, on Christmas Eve, and on New Year’s Eve. The museum is closed Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
