Young Writers Camp

Young Writers Camp

The Young Writers Camp, a summer division of the Steinbeck Young Authors program, provides middle school students a chance to develop their writing skills long after the bell rings!

The Young Writers Camp provides campers an opportunity to strengthen their writing skills through fiction, nonfiction, journaling, and other creative projects while exploring the legacy and style of writers like John Steinbeck. The Young Writers Camp also includes exploratory activities, such as guest speakers on the art of storytelling, and inspirational field trips to local sites.

On the final day of the two-week Young Writers Camp, campers will present their work in a reading for family and friends. Campers’ work is collected in a printed anthology, of which each camper receives a copy to memorialize their writing camp session.
