Like history? Know more than your average bear? Join us on April 29, 10 AM- 4PM for the “History Slam”! It will be a fun and engaging opportunity to explore the rich and unique history of the Monterey Bay area.
The National Steinbeck Center and the Monterey Peninsula Chapter of the Japanese American Citizen League are hosting this quirky, informative, and fun event at the Japanese American Citizen League Hall in Monterey to kick of the annual Steinbeck Festival: The Women of Steinbeck’s World.
Interested? Groups or individuals can submit a 10-15 minute presentations about Monterey County history across six categories: women, agriculture, fishing, culture, bandits, and science.
Cash awards will be given at the end of the day to the best, most creative, and informative presentations! The National Steinbeck Center is currently accepting submissions for the “History Slam.” The deadline to submit presentations is April 1, 2018.
