5:00 PM EXHIBIT OPENING! City Arts: Salinas' Visual Heritage Exhibition
5:30 PM Eric Bosler, photography professor at Hartnell College for many years and who has curated many art shows, will talk about the City of Salinas’s vast collection of public art and some provocative locals who felt it was important to start a cultural anthology for the visitors and people of Salinas.
6:30 PM Kat Meads and Patrice Vecchione will chat about how and why they became writers and, from there, discuss their writing practices and inspiration and how place comes to play in what they write. Is it being in a place that gives us what we need to write about it or are we also inspired to write about what our home gives us distance from?
Patrice Vecchione, Author
Kat and Patrice will read brief selections from their new work and talk about how these latest projects came to be and look at the influence of place in these particular books. Book signing will follow.
7:00 PM Performance by Monterey Flute Choir
