American Conservatory Theater's Young Conservatory

The National Steinbeck Center is pleased to announce our collaboration with the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. ACT is an award-winning conservatory, where students ages 8 to 19 develop their talents and gain the confidence to succeed-all in a creative, fun, and encouraging environment. These classes are taught by ACT graduates that are theater professionals and who understand and have a passion for working with young people.

Course fee is $200 per 8 -week session. This is a first time only cost, after this first session, cost will increase to $250.

Checks are payable to the National Steinbeck Center.

Tuesday Evenings: ACTING TECHNIQUES

Description:

ACTING TECHNIQUES
These courses are designed to give young actors the tools to create believable and vibrant characters. Covering the basic principles of acting technique—including objective/obstacle, given circumstance, inner monologue, sense memory, emotional recall, and improvisation. Students work will culminate in monologue work. This class is a foundation for all future study and can be repeated.
