Exhibition of the infant-toddler centers and preschools of the Istituzione - Municipality of Reggio Emilia - North American Version

The Wonder of Learning - The Hundred Languages of Children Exhibition is offered by Reggio Children in collaboration with NAREA (North American Reggio Emilia Alliance) and hosted in Monterey County by First 5 Monterey County with other community partners. The exhibition will be at the National Steinbeck Center in Salinas, California from June 15 - November 15, 2011 for its only Northern California venue during a six-year tour (from 2008 through 2014).
This traveling exhibition shares the world-renowned Reggio Emilia Approach to education. The exhibition will be free and open to the public during the National Steinbeck Center’s regular hours of operation: Weekdays (Mon-Fri) and Weekends (Sat-Sun), 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The exhibition has the aim to inspire parents, educators, service providers, government leaders, policy makers and other advocates for children to better understand the powerful learning that occurs in early childhood. Visitors will be immersed in stories from the work and everyday experiences of the schools, showing children, from birth, using many languages, for example, art, music, numeracy, drama and literacy, to learn about and make meaning of the world.
A series of professional development opportunities will be held in conjunction with the exhibition.
